Mrs. Sandy Smith - Principal

Mrs. Smith earned a Regent’s Diploma from Smithtown High School West, Smithtown, NY, before attending Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. She graduated from CBC in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education with a Day School Concentration; also earning enough credits for an additional major in Bible and a minor in Deaf Ministries. Mrs. Smith was on the Dean’s List while attending Central Bible College, and she is a member of the Fray Junipero Serra Spanish Honor Society. While teaching at Faith, Mrs. Smith has completed graduate level courses concentrating in history and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in American History and Government through Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. In April 2010, Mrs. Smith was chosen as one of two representatives for the state of Maryland to attend the Presidential Academy for History and Civics.  In April, 2011, she was chosen as the James Madison Fellow for the state of Maryland.   She holds a teaching certificate for secondary level from the Association of Christian Schools International.  Mrs. Smith also continues to expand her administrative efforts by attending graduate level courses focusing on administrative and legal issues for schools. She has completed her certification for her CMT through the Maryland Board of Nursing and acts as the school’s medication technician. She is currently serving as a member of the Maryland State Department of Education’s Non-public Workgroup. Mrs. Smith has been teaching in the private school community since 1988. She has experience teaching students in pre-school through 8th grade in Christian schools in New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Missouri and Maryland; and has assisted in writing curriculum for a number of these schools, including adult and elementary sign language courses.

She has taught third and fourth grades at Faith as well as middle school and high school history and Bible. Mrs. Smith also supervises the home school program under FCS. She joined the staff of Faith Christian School in 1997 and became principal in 2005.
